Raizes do Brasil

Raizes do Brasil was founded in 1980 by Mestre Ralil, and based in the capitol city of Brazil - Brasilia. Today, the group consists of schools in the United States, Europe, and all 24 states of Brazil. Raizes do Brasil is dedicated to the preservation and advancement of Capoeira and Brazilian culture.

We focus our training on both Capoeira Regional and Angola. We strongly belive in a solid foundation built on the fundamentals of Capoeira and emphasis on proper technique. As everyone is different, we encourage each individual to progress at their own pace, within their own abilities, keeping mindful of the basics.

Mestre Ralil

Mestre Ralil began his training in the early 70's under the instruction of Mestre Tabosa in Brasilia.

Mestre Ralil has devoted his life to the art of Capoeira

and travels the world promoting it. He has done extensive work using Capoeira as a means to help those less fortunate, at-risk youth, and individuals with challenges.

Instructor Nativo

A native of Hawaii, as his nickname implies, Nativo began training Capoeira in 1993. He is an original member of the first Capoeira group in Hawaii.

Over the years, Nativo has become highly regarded as a strong capoerista and skilled teacher. His work ethic and devotion to the art of Capoeira have gained him the respect of both his students and fellow instructors.
